Its been a year….
We can’t believe its been exactly a year to the day we completed on 3 Fistral Beach, our beautiful holiday let by the sea.
We actually stayed as guests in July 2020 after our original booking over at Headland Point was cancelled. We fell in love immediately and decided it was exactly where we wanted to be and hopefully at sometime in the future the apartment would become available to buy. Four weeks later the apartment was for sale and obviously I was convinced it was meant to be; just a little earlier than expected!
Whilst it has been very exciting, it has also been a steep learning curve as we have never owned a holiday let before and it wasn’t something we had ever planned to do. After the initial excitement wore off we realised that the apartment was in desperate need of a refresh which quickly escalated!
We spent Ant’s Birthday and our Christmas break fully re-decorating and changing pretty much all the furniture and soft furnishings in the apartment. It is still a bit of a work in progress as we have the second bedroom to finish and some other bits and bobs to add. We have also refreshed outside and added sun loungers, a table and chairs and the option of a hot tub hire. We will also be adding a pizza oven on our next visit for any of our guests who like a bit of alfresco cooking!
As well as improving the interior of the apartment we are trying to be as plastic free as much possible and love trying to add little extras where we can to make the apartment feel like a home from home.
One of the most important things for us is to work with as many local businesses as possible, in any way we can. From the guest soap made in Cornwall by the wonderful Suddy Nora to our bespoke painting in the living area of the Fistral Sea by the extremely talented Gemma Lessinger. I love buying from and engaging with these wonderful local businesses. I will be writing a little blog about each business we use so you can learn all about them too.. watch this space!
